I thought I would start the Oakland County monthly review with the number of solds for August 2017 versus August 2016. Let’s begin with the below graph.
As you can see, the actual numbers of homes sold decreased for most areas in August 2017. To get a better understanding as to why the number of solds decreased I’ll follow up this blog next week with another one which will showcase more stats to give us a broader view on the local real estate market.
The following is a list of Oakland County communities in order of the largest decreases of homes sold in 2017 versus 2016.
- Royal Oak sold 28 homes less
- Birmingham sold 11 homes less
- Lake Orion sold 10 homes less
- Oakland Twp sold 6 homes less
- Shelby Twp sold 1 home less
There was no change in solds in Rochester as the number remained at 15 in both 2016 and 2017. Troy actually saw an increase of the number of solds by 9 in 2017.
