If you live in the Rochester area then you are probably familiar with the Rochester Area Neighborhood House. If not then let me introduce you. This is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which does A LOT for the community. It began back in 1968 through the vision of seven ministers coming together to find a solution to the community issues that they found the most needful. 49 years later the Rochester Area Neighborhood House continues to grow and thrive.

Services The Rochester Area Neighborhood House Provides

Food Pantry – Providing emergency food for individuals and families struggling to make ends meet. Totally dependent on the community for donations. Take a look at the Wish List to see how you might be able to help.

Clothes Closet – Providing low-income families with necessary clothing needs. Also, shopping is available to the public as well. Located at 44 Mill Street, under the Main Street bridge in downtown Rochester. Check the store hours before going.

Counseling – Providing counseling services for qualified low-income families and individuals including several different types of counseling.

Transportation – Providing transportation services to low-income families and individuals. For details click HERE. 

Financial Assistance – Providing financial assistance to low-income families and individuals to prevent evictions, utility turn offs, and more. Click HERE for details.

Ways to Become Involved With The Rochester Area Neighborhood House

Volunteer – Without the help of the community, the Rochester Area Neighborhood House would cease to exist. There are several ways to financially and physically commit. Take a look HERE. 

Youth Committee – If you are your high school son and/or daughter would like to volunteer then here’s where you go for that information – WEBSITE.

Giving back is a huge gift to your community and actually, to yourself. Don’t miss the Pancake Breakfast which is tomorrow, Saturday, August 12th from 9am to noon at the Rochester Fire Department located at 277 E. 2nd Street, Rochester, MI.
